"You Love I" is an unreleased song by Melanie Martinez. It was intended to be on her debut album, Cry Baby, however, it was later scrapped. Melanie has performed the song live multiple times in 2014, later the studio version surfaced on July 25th, 2015.

Background
On March 25th, 2014, Melanie posted a Tweet saying "When i put my album out i want to just put the names of each song as emojis. 🎠🍋🍭💧👶 you ❤️ I etc.". "you ❤️ I" referred to this song.[1] The tweet was later deleted. Melanie also mentioned the song on a Facebook post in 2014.[2]
Theme
When the lyrics are read from bottom to top, it forms a story, presumably about Marilyn Monroe, due to the fact that there is a reversed audio clip of Marilyn in the beginning. This story tells of Marilyn meeting a guy, whom she quickly begins dating. They slowly become more and more attracted to each other and move in with each other. They decide to get married, but before they could, she cheated on him. She then blames him for not putting in enough effort, singing, "That's what happens when you don't try".

- The song includes a back-masked message. If you reverse and slow down the first set of vocals before the actual song, the audio clip is of Marilyn Monroe saying "Uh, do I feel happy in life?".
- This is one of two known songs by Melanie that includes a back-masked message in it, the other one being Teddy Bear.
- As with many other unreleased songs, most uploads of this song on YouTube, SoundCloud, or other similar content-sharing websites will be immediately taken down.
- When the demo first leaked, it was a stem mixdown which included silences at the intro and beginning and had a click stem which had only been used as the tempo for live performances.
