The EP was announced on April 27, 2016, by the trend website PopBuzz. It serves as the international version of the previous Dollhouse EP, since the songs Dead To Me and Bittersweet Tragedy were previously only available in North America.

This EP has the same track list as the Dollhouse EP, the only changes were that Pity Party replaced Carousel and Dollhouse became the second track.
The Pity Party EP is not available in most countries outside of North America.
The EP cover is the same as the single art for Pity Party, but "EP" was edited next to the word "Party".
