Pidgin Doll is "a modern style-icon and muse, created by artist Joshua David McKenney in Brooklyn, New York".
In November and December 2013, there was a make-up design contest held by Pidgin and Melanie Martinez, with the winner receiving a custom Pidgin Doll necklace of their design and a photo of Melanie wearing their look. Gina Frey did the makeup. Talking about Pidgin, Melanie had said, "The first time I saw Pidgin, I totally fell in love with her soft structural features and her femininity. Everything about her is beautiful and delicate. I feel we definitely share some stylistic similarities, as my inspiration for my wardrobe comes from a love of childhood and youth".
