Background[]
On March 18, 2022, the track was first teased by Melanie's ex-partner, Verde, in which he posted a picture of a sign titled "PLUTO" and tagged Melanie in the photo.[1] He has since removed the post.
Theme[]
During a takeover on America Top 40, Melanie answers a fan question where did she get inspirations for this song, which she ended up explaining the theme of this song:[2]
"I was going through many changes and transformations in my life, and since Pluto is a planet of death, rebirth and transformation. I thought it was playing a very significant role in my life at that time. I wanted to express that feeling of moving through chaos with full of acceptance and confidence that you'll come out the other side stronger."
