Ms. Harper is a character created by Melanie Martinez for her film, K-12. She is portrayed by Kate O'Donnell.[1]

She was a teacher at K-12 Sleepaway School before she was dismissed by the Principal due to her male-to-female transition and wishes to no longer be addressed as Mr. Harper.

Ms. Harper was a teacher at K-12 Sleepaway School until she was fired by the Principal due to her being a transgender woman. She's states she is transitioning when questioned why she began dressing like a woman. She loved her job as a teacher due to her connection with the students, and wished to keep it on the grounds that she would be allowed to be her "most authentic self".  This leads to her dismissal, which prompts the song "The Principal".
