Heart at the Door

"Heart at the Door" is an unreleased song by Melanie Martinez. It was recorded during the sessions for her 2013 EP; however, it was not recorded with the intention to be on the EP and was later scrapped.

A snippet of the song leaked on January 4, 2023.^[1]

Background[]

Melanie confirmed via Instagram in 2016 that this song was not intended for herself and that she wrote it a "long time ago" as a pitch song.^[2] However, she recorded a demo of it as a reference track that has yet to leak in full.

The song was registered on Warner Chappell Music, but there is still no full audio leaked.^[3]

Trivia[]

On May 28, 2013, Melanie posted a tweet saying ''When writing songs... brain: hmm words that rhyme with heart.. automatically thinks fart." It's possible that she was writing the song when she posted that, however it is not confirmed.^[4]
