Cry Baby Perfume Milk is the first fragrance by Melanie Martinez. It was released on February 17^th, 2017, via Atlantic Records.

Description

Sweet and nostalgic, “Cry Baby Perfume Milk” captures the spirit of the girl who is playfully innocent, but conceals an irreverent edge. The first impression is a complicity of dark fruity notes, while strawberry milk and a lipstick accord are layered to contrast the dark fruits. The heart of, “Cry Baby Perfume Milk” invites you to experience innocent darkness while Melanie’s childhood memories are evoked through a soft, nostalgic baby lotion accord. Feminine yet mischievous and unapologetic, the base of the fragrance is wrapped in a sweet layer of burnt caramel complimented by a blend of sinister woods. Available in a 2.5 oz. size, bottled in a vintage-inspired, glass. Not tested on animals <3 Vegan.

It may seem a bit strange to think about spraying milk on your body, but the perfume's name is simply a reflection of the bottle's shape. Going along with Melanie's "warped childhood aesthetic", the fragrance comes in a vintage baby bottle, twist-off rubber top and all. While the perfume itself actually does look like milk, don't worry -- it sprays on clear.

Melanie sent a sample wipe of the perfume to selected fans with a card reading:

Melanie also included a scented stripe on her first issue of the Alternative Press magazine. Before the release of the perfume fans could also get a free sample of the perfume as a gift along with their purchases made on Melanie's merchandise website.

Trivia

• Melanie said she would like to restock this perfume, but due to manufacturing problems it is unlikely. ^{[citation needed]}
  • She later confirmed in 2023 during an interview with Wild 94.9 radio station that the perfume cannot be restocked because the manufacturer no longer exists.
    • However, the CEO of the collaborator with Portals Parfums hinted at a possible reissue in the future.
• On December 1^th, 2016, Melanie held a live event at YouTube headquarters in order to promote the release of the Perfume.
• The perfume was originally set to be released on December 23^rd, 2016, however, the date was changed due to popular demand.
• The perfume was only available in the contiguous United States.
• It is believed that Melanie shot both the "Pacify Her" and "Mrs. Potato Head" music videos in the same location as the commercial, due to the building's structure and Melanie's outfit.
• The holder of the perfume has an advisory warning due to the top saying "f**k off"
• This perfume was listed as one of the world's most expensive perfumes.
  • Interestingly, the article said the perfume retailed for $275, even though this isn't true. It is thought that they mixed up the pricing with the Portals Parfums collection.
