Trivia[]

  • The initial first part was Melanie's second international tour.
  • Melanie went through her breakup with Edwin sometime on the tour. (First leg)
  • Melanie, Mike, and Miles would routinely do soundchecks on stage, hours before each show.
  • Melanie performed wearing Doll Eyes outfits throughout the entirety of the tour. (First leg)
  • Melanie made handmade babydoll necklaces, that were sold for merch on this tour. They'd mostly be the detached heads of dolls with the backs of the heads being cut entirely straight down from the middle of the head. And inside, there'd be confetti, usually, with plastic or a mesh fabric covering being hotglued over top. (First & final leg)
  • Sometimes the necklaces were babydoll arms.
  • "Cuddles" and "Yum Yum" were almost like a gag during the tour, as Melanie "had" the drummer Miles, and guitar/keyboardist Mike, dress up in onesie outfits, fit with bibs that read the names. Occasionally, they'd also have pacifiers in their mouths, usually only during the start of the show. (First leg)
  • The tour would debut live performances of: Alphabet Boy, The Sweet Escape, Starring Role (with added percussion), Pacify Her, and Drunk in Love. (First leg)
  • Broadripple is Burning, Drunk In Love, and Toxic were also performed for the last times on this tour, with "Toxic" performed last at Baltimore Soundstage, and Broadripple is Burning being known to have been performed last at The Middle East. (First leg)
  • The songs Broadripple is Burning and Toxic were added to the setlist as an encore or fan-requested song at certain shows. (First leg)
  • Night Mime had a transition into Cry Baby when performed. (First leg)
  • Oddly, however, the songs weren't performed back-to-back at the first show (World Cafe Live), making The LAB performance the first known instance.
  • Only at a few select shows, did Melanie perform The Sweet Escape holding and occasionally strumming her guitar. (First leg)
  • During Carousel, Melanie sometimes had a confetti cannon, which actually hit one fan in the eyes at The High Watt show. (First leg)
  • At the end after performing Dead To Me, Melanie would pick up a confetti gun on stage, and turn to "Yum Yum" (Mike) and shoot him with it. He'd sometimes fall to the floor and play dead. (First leg)
  • During the show in Baltimore on June 15, 2014, Melanie was confirmed to have sang original songs that wouldn't be on Cry Baby. These are most likely to be "Night Mime" and "You Love I", as she didn't perform older material.
  • The sound system at Soundstage malfunctioned during the show, leading Melanie to play "Toxic" as well as talk to fans. It is unknown if the malfunction caused certain songs to be cut from the setlist.
  • The sound system at The Observatory malfunctioned during “Mad Hatter”, leading Melanie to play “Oh Comely” acoustically. This was unusual as she hadn’t done the song since February 2014 and would never do it again.
  • The audio malfunctioned during the 96.5 Buzz show, causing Melanie to perform Dead To Me acoustically.
  • At the show in Phoenix on November 24, 2014, some people had stolen Mike Squillante's Ernie headpiece, Miles Nasta's drumsticks and Melanie's vintage robe.
  • Mike Squillante would double as being the opening act for the tour's first two parts, as well as being the guitarist/keyboardist for both as well.
  • The Heirs were originally planned to open for the third leg, however, they were unable to make it for unspecified reasons.
