"Dead to Me", sometimes stylized as "Dead To Me" and originally titled "Dead 2 Me"[1], is a song by Melanie Martinez featured as the third track on her debut EP, Dollhouse and her EP Pity Party. The song was also meant to be included on her debut album, Cry Baby, however, it was later scrapped.
Background[]
Skizzy Mars was pitched the hooks of the song by the producer One Love in June 2013, he recorded his own versions, but they were ultimately discarded. Later, the hooks were pitched to Melanie Martinez, who received them and wrote her own verses for the song.
Theme[]
This song is the aftermath of "Carousel" within the Dollhouse universe, and it is about Melanie trying to distance herself from her ex-boyfriend. She is unable to forget him despite how hard she tries; the only way to forget him is by figuratively killing him and removing his existence from her mind.

- Despite having profanity in the lyrics, the song is not considered to be explicit, meaning no official clean version exists.
- In an interview with GroundSounds in 2014, Melanie stated that "Milk and Cookies" is "like a weird sequel" to this song.
