Melanie performed Soap in an outfit that was made by Stella Rose Saint Clair and custom wig made by her hairstylist William Scott Blair. During the first chorus, she ripped a portion of her outfit off. This caused problems with her earpiece during the rest of the song, meaning she had to try to fix it throughout the remainder of her performance.
