Brandon is a character created by Melanie Martinez for her film, K-12. He is portrayed by Vilmos Heim.[1] He is a student at K-12 Sleepaway School.
Life
Brandon first appears on the bus ride to K-12 Sleepaway School, when the bus stops for him to board. All of the students stop what they're doing and turn to look at him. Cry Baby instantly falls for him and begins to flirt with him, angering his girlfriend, Kelly. This causes him to push Cry Baby aside and sit with Kelly instead.
In Ms. Daphne's class, Brandon sits behind Cry Baby. He asks her for an eraser, and she passes him one. Kelly sees this and believes that the two may be flirting. Infuriating her, she purposefully drops her pencil on the floor and bends over to pick it up, distracting Brandon.
At recess, Brandon goes to sit with Cry Baby and Angelita, seeming particularly interested in Cry Baby. One of Kelly's friends sees what is happening and tries to inform her, but she dismisses it. When none of the girls in Kelly's posse appear to be paying attention to what she is saying, she turns around to see what's going on. Kelly storms towards the three, and Brandon backs away, watching as Kelly attacks Cry Baby.
At the school dance, it is revealed that Brandon left Kelly for her friend, Lucy. All of Kelly's friends side with Brandon and Lucy, leaving her alone.
Trivia
- Due to the line, "And my one true love called me a monster" in Class Fight, it is implied that Brandon no longer likes Cry Baby because she fought Kelly.
- Brandon had a few lines at the start of the movie, but they were cut.[2]
- The true spelling of his name is debated; the lyric booklet states that it is Brendan, the film's subtitles state that it is Brendon, and the film credits state that it is Brandon.
