"Bittersweet Tragedy" is a song by Melanie Martinez. It is the fourth and final track on both Melanie Martinez's Dollhouse and Pity Party extended plays. The song was originally meant to be included on Cry Baby, however, it was scrapped. It was later repurposed for Dollhouse.
Theme
This song is about the end of Cry Baby's relationship with a boy. The relationship was uneven, and there were moments when Cry Baby was only focusing on the sweet parts. However, she realized how bitter and sour the relationship really was, and consequently, they broke up. Melanie stated that "it is the final song on Dollhouse because it sums up the whole EP."
