"Animal Crackers" is an unreleased song by Melanie Martinez. It was intended to be featured on her debut studio album, Cry Baby, however, it was later scrapped.
Background[]
On April 7, 2015, Melanie posted a photo on Instagram under the caption "💌💌💌💌 I like animal crackers in my soup Monkeys and rabbits loopdy loop 💌💌💌💌", it was thought to be from Shirley Temple's song, however, the original song doesn't have the words "I like" and "loopdy" in it, so it's most likely lyrics from Melanie's song. That post is now deleted, but an archive account reposted it.[1]
Melanie confirmed during a Tumblr Q&A from July 27, 2015, that she considered "Animal Crackers" to be one of the title tracks that she scrapped for her debut album before it was released as Cry Baby.[2]
Currently, there is no audio available for this song, and little is known about it. It is most likely a piano song, as the producer usually worked on piano songs at the time.
