Happy holidays y'all!! i hope everyone reading this is having an amazing time with your family or friends, a lot of delicious food and happy memories. To the people who are spending these holidays alone either beacuse of family problems or health reasons, hope your ok, i know how hard it can be sometimes, your are not alone in this. Sending a lot of love & light to everyone.
Now, let's take a look on everything that impprtant and crusial that happened in 2021 regarding our dear melanie martinez. This was an interesting year for sure.
The first thing that goes into my mind regarding melanie on this year is the leaks, and oh lord, there was A LOT of them this year, either from melanie's upcoming album or scrapped songs. We got to hear songs we didn't even thought were real, like Ring Pop and Seesaw, which titles were widely known for being fanmade titles or titles being accused of not existing at all. We got Jumprope, which was by far the most unexpected leak among all the others songs. We got the first ever unreleased song from K-12 Papercut. We got some bangers like Eraser, Arts & Crafts, Rocking Horse, ect. Of course this leak phenomena brought to the table some unpleasent moments for melanie and her fans, like all the MM3 leaks, which forced Atlantic to stand up and say something about it, unleashing a chain effect of events on the fandom, people got doxxed, the wiki had to remove a lot of thing to avoid inconvenients, and most importantly, the leaks stopped for a while.
In terms of music releases, there's wasn't that much of a presence from part of melanie or any other assosiated acts. But it's understandible, she was working on the new album and there wasn't any need to released anything at all. The only musical content we got on 2022 were leaks (which i already discussed) and concerts. We'll most likely not hear any music released until 2022, since it highly possible that melanie is planning to film the movie for the album by early-mid 2022. Some people say that she will probably release the album first and then the movie, but we'll see, everything at it's time.
Now, as a person who has seen every type of people in this fandom and have been on the wiki for approximally 3 years, i've gotta say that we've been progressing as a community, we are becoming more understanding of certain circumstances and we actually use logic, but, we need to take on the increase of bad/evil influences, vandals, or just people being absolute jerks in our community. I hope this changes for better as I do believe that our community is capable of educating people who aren't so educated, in other words, ignorant people.
I don't really have much left to say, but if you think i missed something on here or just anything that you wanna discuss regarding the year, please leave it on the replies, i'll be more than happy to read your opinions. I'm also not an expert on english writing, so if you see any grammar errors or anything that looks weirdly worded (like this), please point it out so i can better my understanding on english in general.
