ur so right omg i agree with everything (except history lyrics - theyre amazing imo, even the funky ones (you know what im talking abt x) bc theyre real and should be normalised bc why should mel refrain from singing that if she wants to ykyk)
production-wise, drama club, but strawberry shortcake was better lyrically, thematically and vocally, but the production on it was amazing too
a) i dont see any hate b) theyre not bad releases, they just had some things to work on. personally, i love k-12, its just the drums from michael keenan's songs shouldve been not used or replaced or toned down bc they were in EVERY SONG (and in after school too ive noticed). after school was great lyrically and vocally but not production wise (except the bakery) - dont get me wrong i loved the production, it was just so bland, basic and the same throughout the whole song (notebook or brain & heart for example) but some was actually cool (test me, glued, numbers). the outtakes definitely wouldve boosted my pov on after school (history?? lost & found?? absorb?? they were just incredible)

@Glaytujis @CarlitoBuster2.0 dollhouse ep doesnt have any outtakes, like mysteriouslbbh said. all unreleased songs from before the release of cry baby were intended for cry baby, but mel picked a couple from cry baby and put them onto dollhouse to promote it.
@Tellmewhywelivelikethis dead to me and bittersweet tragedy were scrapped from cry baby, not dollhouse.

k-12 didnt flow as well as cry baby. in cry baby, for example, the songs cry baby, dollhouse and sippy cup all flowed well together, then the next scene involved carousel and alphabet boy, then the next scene was soap and training wheels which transitioned into pity party, when then went to tag ur it and milk and cookies, etc.
k-12 just felt like a bunch of school songs but didnt suit their grades (wheels on the bus worked but class fight didnt, and same with recess or lunchbox friends or whatever). plus, the movie was just trying to fit in the songs, so there wasnt enough room for background storyline or other scenes to make sense or help the songs flow into each other. so many parts of the movie felt so random and like we skipped a whole 15 minutes because we didnt understand context.
