The fact is, if someone says something you didn't like or weren't ok with, (especially if it's someone you view as a friend and care about!) you need to talk to them about it. If you keep it isolated and keep going, they have no idea they hurt you, and no way to know what to do differently - so they'll do it again, having no idea you didn't like it.

It's a life lesson I learned awhile back. Communiate. Tell people when they've done something that offends or hurts you. If you don't tell them, enmity will build up between you. If you do, then you have a chance to heal the wounds, and become friends again quickly. I've had multiple friends dump me randomly and then later I hear why they did - and I had no idea why before that point. As soon as I found out what the issue was, we got it cleared up immediately and have been closest of friends since. Failure to communicate truly destroys friendships, leads to unnecessary stress, and more.
