That's truly odd, i tried checking both FandomDesktop and oasis, no problems. Even when using an account without these rights.

What device, browser, and windows version are y'all using?

Oh wait, I found out what the issue is! You need to confirm your email. If you haven't, check your personal preferences and make sure it's set up right, ad ask for a new confirmation email if needed. Accounts with unconfirmed emails are no longer able to comment, due to a number of abuse issues.
