"The Tunnel" es una canción inédita de Melanie Martinez. Se desconoce si estaba destinada a aparecer en su cuarta obra extendida, After School, o en su tercer album de estudio, PORTALS, sin embargo, luego fue descartada.
La demo de la canción se filtro parcialmente en baja calidad el 31 de octubre de 2024. Una versión editada que combina varias versión de la canción se filtro el 12 de noviembre de 2024.
Esta canción junto a "TUNNEL VISION" y "Tunnel Vision" forman el grupo de canciones que usan el tema de un túnel respectivamente.

Es incierto el tema de esta canción, podría significar sobre como el alma de Cry Baby entrando literal o metafóricamente a algún tipo de túnel, aunque su alma aun esta conectada a la tierra, el pasar por "el túnel" le permite transicionar hacia otro mundo, dejando su pasado atrás, lo cual podría ser parte de la historia de como Cry Baby muere y pasa al mundo de fantasía de PORTALS.
También podría tratar sobre el calentamiento global y los robots tomando el control, la linea "Humans made their mark, Machines have shaped our hearts" podria significar sobre el daño que ha hecho la inteligencia artificial a la sociedad y todos los daños al medio ambiente que ha traído la tecnología.
