Esta canción fue escrita sobre una niña que atraviesa una relación abusiva. Durante su actuación en The Rockwood Music Hall en abril de 2013, Melanie declaró que ella misma no sufrió abuso doméstico, pero que la canción está inspirada en varios episodios de la serie de televisión criminal estadounidense Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
